I’m A Widow…

Such a weird thing to say. Such weird looks you get. Such foreign emotions you feel. I’m a widow and it sucks. What sucks even more is that I have to believe that my life was supposed to be scripted this way. The only other thought is that it was just bad luck. The thought that it just might be bad luck angers me a bit. I’d rather believe that this was in Gods will. And even though he knew he was going to drop a bomb on my beautiful family, the fact that he’s not in the business of giving a heads up also sucks.

I don’t know how to be a widow. I was a wife, I did that beautifully and he let me know it. I will always be his wife; that made since. This new title is an absolute joke. It’s stupid. People talk about how marriage is hard, marriage was everything good, even in challenging times. He was there, our kids were there. WE were there. Best feeling ever.

You think marriage is hard? Try being a widow. Perspective is everything. BE GRATEFUL.

JUST A WIDOW BIT BAFFLED

Invisible grief. Have you ever heard of that? A more familiar term might be secondary losses. That’s what happens when someone becomes a widow. • Widow’s Fog

Ever hear of widow’s fog? It’s a thing, and honestly presently at 4 years in, it’s still a thing. I sometimes think I irritate people by forgetting what they just told me. It’s not intentional, sometimes I’m just in a lost cloudy space even when I seemed to be just very present. You might notice…

  • Grief Is Not a Calendar Event…It’s Just Another Day

Today is day ‘WHO THE HELL REALLY KNOWS?!‘ Seriously, do you know what numerical day today is? Not the date, but the specific count inside some arbitrary time period?
